A few more pictures from a new guy

oak bed put in back in the early 80s, only treated with linseed oil at the time and nothing done since

recent picture at our new place

As requested, a few more pictures! An "amateur restoration" was done when I first got the truck from my uncle back in the early 80s. Now it just looks like a well-preserved truck, not something that's ever been "restored". Grandpa told me to get the engine rebuilt when it hit 100,000 back in the late 80s. It has about 123K on it now. The only recent work was a complete electrical redo about 5 years ago. It's totally reliable and does dual duty...it's not so nice that I can't use it (I've hauled gravel, barkdust, helped people move furniture, drive it to work etc.) but it's nice enough that I can clean it up and take it to a car show or cruise-in. I even have an old cassette deck just like I had back in High School in it, so I have my tunes! I'll try to get up some vintage pictures one of these days too, if anyone is into seeing that sort of thing. Thanks to all for the welcome to the forums!

Definitely find the vintage photos, way cool to see a truck stay in a bloodline like that.

I'd say she's perfect, I really thought it was just very well preserved and hadn't been restored when I saw it.

Awesome truck.

Am I the only person that wonders how these trucks were driven enough to wear the pedal pads down so much? Some thing in a '56 F250 my Dad owns.

That is an awesome truck and a great story. Thanks for sharing.

P.S. I spy a glass fuel bowl!

The Maverick is my Son's car. I guess the penchant for buying stuff that's not "normal" was passed on to him. The '52 was my first ride when I was 15. He got the '70 Mav as his first ride when he was 16. It was a pretty nice survivor car, we just striped it, put on slotted mags and a stereo. It has the 200 cube 6.
