it is not that big of a deal as long as you pay close attention to the timing marks on the gears.

Thanks you. And glad to hear about the ttb working as it should.

Update
I was very careful not to break anything.

That was a PITA.

All the tape crumbling to pieces

It's it fun. I enjoy getting up close and personal with my new cars. It's satisfying knowing the ins and outs and in between.

For off road, i would keep the TTB, if you want to get hardcore, cut em and go coil over, unless you just want to do bogs or rocks. They perform great, they dont ride fantastic, and the flex really leaves some to be desired, but with some aftermarket springs and the right lift, theyre very capable. Keep in mind another option for axles if you really do want to SAS. After finding junk D60s for 1000-1400 asking price, i bought a mono D50 AND 10.5 sterling out of an 02 F250 for 750 bucks. Got springs, blocks, u-bolts, 1350 flange, driveline, and a pile of other goodies with em too. Unit bearings are of course the downside, but i dont plan to run over 35s (255's atm) and theyre fine up to 37s. I bought a RSK designed for using a SD axle from precision metal fab for $450, and some stock SD X-code springs. Put stock 350 blocks int he back (4") and it sits with a 1/2" rake with full fuel tanks and tool box. Doesnt get more perfect than that for me.
