recently bought 94 ford ranger. when purchased was told fuel pump did not work. brought home found out ground wire in relay was no working. grounded it off got fuel pump to come on. still no crank. compression test was 90 because engine is cold. fuel pressure is 40 psi. I am getting spark. did test on injector with noid 'light. and no fire there at all. could use help. I do m asonary work not a machanic. these are the things I knew to test and the results I got also no check engine light at all. Evan tried to do self test with the eec. and still no check engine light.

 

I recently had $2,800 worth of timing chain replacement in my 2003 4.0 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer edition with 200,380 miles now and the timing chain replacement was at 193,000 miles. It shut off going down the road and hasn't started yet. Turns over and wants to crank but coughs and burps and dies. I replaced the plugs and wires,fuel filter and checked the fuel pump. Also the inertia switch. So the repair shop has had it for 7-8 days now and no word yet. Calling Monday and will post updates.
