Arrived in Charleston, SC with cracked rim
Went out to wash the truck at the campground in Charleston, SC this morning and found this on the drivers side rear...
I am fortunate that the rim did not give way while towing our trailer, but it needs to be fixed before heading back home. I am now on the search for a stock replacement wheel in Charleston, but not having too much luck finding one yet.
Luckily we have our 2008 Subaur Tribeca with us this time so I can still run around and find a solution for the cracked rim.
If anyone is familiar with this area and can point me in the right direction, I would appreciate it.

NTB has to wait to look for a wheel tomorrow. Firestone was of zero help.
I am now looking about mounting the 265/75R16 onto the spare rim under the bed and running that home.
The stock/OEM wheel is 16x7, but that is an odd size to find.
Any problems with running a 16x8 for one wheel and 16x7 for the other 3? I might have Discount Tire Direct deliver a wheel to the campground and have it mounted at Wal-mart or whatever. Thoughts?

Found some OEM replacements at the link below.

Going to call them in the morning and see about shipping them to a UPS store close to where we are staying.

Roughly 10K lbs 5th wheel is what we are pulling. The thing is we pulled it home over 1K miles from WI to GA and the wheel may have cracked then, not sure. I have not cleaned the truck since the long drive home with the trailer.
I did not see the crack on Wednesday though when I checked the air pressure, but I was not looking for it either. Damaged rims has now been added to my pre-departure checklist.
Thanks for the car-part idea, I searched the local LKQ, but came up with nothing.
I am pretty confident I can get the wheel from the link below in a couple of days and have it delivered to the UPS store right up the street. They are in EST, so as long as the wheel is in stock I should be good. Headed off to check car-part.com now...

Sous you keep saying crack, am I missing something? I only see a bend in the rim from most likely hitting a curb or something large on the road. If that's the case and there is no crack it's possible that it can be repaired(would need to call local shops and get their input on it of course). Just another option.

It's cracked!
I wouldn't trust a random shop to fix this, no matter how good their yelp review is. Replacing is much better than fixing. And I think OP is justified in being worried about this! I would be doing the same thing if I were in his shoes. (not saying that you are; just a general comment towards OP.

Andym, according to car-part.com there is a place about 10 miles from me that has 2 of them in stock. I will be calling them in the morning when I get a chance to see if the online inventory is accurate. If that does not pan out, then I will get in touch with the online retailer and have one over-night shipping to me and have Wal-mart or someone mount and balance the existing tire on the new rim.
If both of those ideas don't pan out, then I will mount the 265/75R16 tire on the spare rim and run that home without a spare.
Thanks for the advice Andym and Ask92.

If you look closely at the first picture you will see a 2.5" or so crack on the turn of the rim where I had wiped the water away in disbelief of what I was seeing. I have 3 courses of action to start out with in the morning and feel good about that. I will not run the rim at all at this point. I plan to remove the entire wheel and put it in the Subaru and take it to get remounted.
I could not even imagine a blowout with a tire that large and under 75 PSI of pressure. If I didn't get a heart attack from the loud bang, it would be a miracle.
1. Call B&D auto parts to see if they have a wheel
2. Call W&C online retailer to see if they have the wheel in stock and where it would ship from
3. Call UPS to find out how I register my name at the store to receive a package
4. Get someone local to mount the tire on the new wheel, or if all else fails tire on the spare rim
Enjoy the rest of our temporary duty trip in Charleston which includes drinking cold, cold beer looking at my newly acquired rim... We have a friend headed out to visit us and he is going to bring a jack stand just for me to use here at the campground. Should make for a good story in a couple of years...

Spare
I am actually only about 300 miles from home now and am staying in Charleston on temporary duty for the next few days.
The scrap yard that claims to have the wheel is about 25 minutes from where I will be working so I plan to go there at lunch tomorrow if they can confirm the wheel is in stock in the morning.
If they don't have it, I will order one online and have it sent to the UPS store up the road.
I thought about just mounting the spare, but would need to get a reply in anyway, so doing now and using the good tires is the right thing to do.
The cracked rim is going in the trash, I would not feel comfortable with anyone trying to re-use it.
I will update this thread tomorrow, thanks for the advice.
On a side note, someone with a 2016 6.7 RAM stopped by our site to admire the 7.3.

Feels good when someone admires our old rigs doesn't it Sous. Even my patched colored obs gets compliments often even though its not 4x4 and not pretty but the people that have complimented the truck have said and I quote " there's just something about it that makes it look good even though its got different colors" I always get a grin on my face because they admire and appreciate the work that has gone to my truck.

Either way one inch is not going to hurt anything. Tire diameter is staying the same so you are safe.
Now my next question, why swap tires on wheels? I assume your spare is shot? If not I would just put the spare on and call it good.

Sean23johnson, that was my intention was to purchase just one 16x8 wheel, but I am no longer going that route.
I crawled under the truck to check on the spare and I would feel OK with using it as a spare, but not putting the 5th wheel trailer on it. It looks to be in decent shape, but not anywhere near what my Cooper tires are in. In addition, I am not sure that the spare and the Coopers are the same diameter due to having different wear on them.
I plan to call the salvage yard in about 30 minutes and see what kind of deal I can work out.
