Hi.
I just bought a 2000 f450 4x4 with 160k
its a bone stock 6 speed which ive been looking for awhile...
Ive had some 6.0s in the past, actually i still have them and
theyve been parked for a long time but thats another story.
Also have a stock 2015 6.7 which is awesome.
So Ive had some experience with powerstrokes and I would really like the
2000 7.3 to be able to keep up with the 6.7, or close...
nothing crazy. For comparison,
my stock 6.0 was much quicker..
tuned 6.0 was little faster than stock 6.7.
and i haven't tuned the 6.7...
The 7.3 is sooo slow right now that it seems like it would need more than just a tuner or chip to accomplish this.
Anyone have some input?
I wont be tuning it until i learn a little bit more about the easy
7.3 mods and preventative maintenance.
Also was wondering if the 450s were detuned from factory?

The 450 and 550 were NOT de tuned. Detuned cab and chassis started after the 7.3 ended production.
