In 1970 Ford replaced it with the 1970 (1970/72) F100/750 in-cab fuel tank (D0TZ-9002-A) that contains 19 1/2 gallons for use as a "service part replacement."
This 19 1/2 gallon in-cab fuel tank has been reproduced by Blue Oval Truck Parts, it's available from all the repro parts sellers.

If I have not already done so, let me take this opportunity to welcome U to FTE!! 'Rust', if not too serious may want to consider using a repair kit. Once tank is drained, removed, and flushed w/ water, the kit basically consist of a 'degreaser' for flushing varnish, gum, or sludge, a 'metal prep' for removing surface rust and etching the tank, then flush thoroughly with water. If there are any pin holes a sealer can be used. If decide to go this route, I have used Por 15 in the past, but there are several similar products one can purchase online thru Ford part supplier's or thru local auto parts and hardware stores. Estimate the cost of flushing the tank probly runs approx. $30, if a sealer is required, possibly $50-$75. I have repaired the tank on 1 65, and flushed the tank on the other, this was many years ago and have not had a problem? Anyhow, food for thought?

Thanks again guys. I've got some older friends that are really into the bump side trucks. One of them has supplied me with a good looking tank from a '69. These guys have a wealth of knowledge to pull from, not to mention parts. Does any one know if the sending unit is the send between these two models??

Looking for more knowledgeable input from member's. Currently waiting the arrival of the 'sending unit' gasket/seal from Dennis Carpenter; IMO, usually find them correct in item description and application; their online catalog list the seal correct from 61-72, the sending unit application correct for 61 thru 77?

So, I thought my tank is 19.5 gallons. I just filled it today, it took 15 gallons, and the gauge (which is innacurate) was just above empty at fill-up. But it shows 3/4 full when full, so I can't trust it.
