3 speed on column to 4 speed on floor

I have a1951 ford f1 flathead with 3 speed column shift. I would like to Put a Four speed in the truck with shift on the floor. I have another flathead and four speed to use. What do I need to change. Will the four speed bolt right up? Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

The 4-sp will bolt right up, if it came out of another F-1. But you might regret doing that. Are you aware it has NO synchros? A 4-sp out of an F-2 or higher will have the wrong rear mount.

Smile 3 speed on column to 4 speed on floor

The 3 speed transmission is not synchronized now. I just like look of the shifter on the floor. I remember this truck as having on shifter on the floor. I was just a kid back then 6 maybe 7 years old. Maybe dad changed it for some reason. Dad was a ford mechanic back then. Had his own shop. Thanks for the information.

Both of the 3-sp's that were available were synch'd in 2nd and 3rd. The light duty 3-sp was column shift, the heavy duty 3-sp was a floor shift.

ALBUQ F-1 is right, plus you'll need a slip-joint driveshaft. The spur gear transmissions sound good tho.
