Hutch Mod Rubber Hose Rating Question

I am getting ready to to do this Mod this weekend. I have read a bunch of threads on this. So I think I am good as to what I have to do but I went to Autozone to get the rubber hose. The hose doesn't say SAE 30R9 on the hose. But the description on there website says it meets or exceeds the SAE 30R9 rating. What do you think? Here is the link to the hose.

Armor Mark Fuel injection hose 50087- ReadReviews onArmor Mark #50087

Meets or exceeds = good enough or asking for trouble.

I just went out and checked the left over fuel hose that I used and it does not say 30R9 on it either. It does say fuel hose, multi-fuel and bio-fuel, but no rating. I used 247 Barrricade Fuel Injection hose 3/8'' that I bought from an Ebay seller, but it is the same as in the link below.

https://www.amazon.com/247-BARRICADE.../dp/B01FN05JS4

I cannot remember where I found the 30R9 rating, but I do remember I had a bitch of a time doing it. I found a table by Gates or someone that had it listed as a 30R9 qualified hose. The PSI rating was important to me as well because I did not want the hose to collapse in any way, shape or form.

You will like the Hutch mod, keep going...

Also I read another link that someone used 5/16" hose. Just wondering about a consensus about that as well.

I used 3/8 and double injector hose clamps where needed on the tank output and pump input. The injector hose clamps are key to a successful install. Do not use standard worm hose clamps.

I have had great success with the 3/8" hose and would recommend it to anyone doing this mod.

It's been a while, but it seems like the steel lines are 5/16", we just made the 3/8" lines work because that was all we could get. That's why we double clamp it because the hose and fuel line sizes don't match up.

If for some reason it's not 30R9 rated hose, you'll figure it out if you start running any biodiesel. If it's not fuel injection rated hose, you'll figure that out too when the line collapses and the engine staves for fuel.

Thanks for the good hope

It is fuel injection hose, and I run no biodiesel. Hopefully I will be good. Just have to return the 5/16 for 3/8".have to

My local Alternative Hose store (hydraulic shop), carries fuel line rated at 300psi, and it's not infection line, for $.60 ft..(60 cents

Well I went back to Autozone and did exchange the 5/16" hose for 3/8" hose. When the guy came back to the counter he had 3/8" fuel hose that actually had the SAE J30R7 hose. So I was stoked!!!

But after I got home I am thinking that I read somewhere that it has to be fuel injection line. Is that correct? Here is the hose I bought. Did I strike out again?

I used 30R7 for a short run on mine as I needed the truck back before I originally thought, and it has worked fine. IIRC the how-to on Guzzle's site called for 30R7, but he used 30R9 as that is what he had available.

I'm not sure if it is able to be had, but 9mm may be the size you are looking for.

30R7 (50psi) is fine for the return line but the suction line needs to be 30E9, 100 PSI or it will collapse if you get even a small restriction between the tank and the pump.

30R7 is rated to 50 psi working pressure.
30R9 is rated to 100 psi working pressure.
The above two are rated only for fuel exposure inside.
30R10 is rated for fuel exposure inside and outside, 100 psi working pressure.
