Post Your After Market Wheel/Tire Specs Here

Seeing how this topic was removed from another forum, I thought I post it here just to give others ideas or options when dealing with non factory wheel and tire setups.

Several months ago, we purchased the 16'' x 7'' Sparco Terra/Rally Wheels Attempting to match up the same if not more load rated tire was a pain. I'm wanting "All Weather" tires which is not to be confuse with "All Season" tires..

The all weather tires have been manufactured mainly in Europe and possibly Canada.. But getting a hold of such a tire has been a pain. None the less and because I use to ride a bicycle, I'm very familiar with Maxxis tires. Therefor we've selected the 215/55/16 Maxxis victra tires, Load rated 97, the same as the stock van tires.

However and once the wheels and tires were mounted on the van.. I was having second thoughts.. After hearing several members saying they installed 225/55/16 on the van. Although I've yet to actually see images of the 225's on the van.. granted and according to wheel sites, the difference is only 10mm. I'm under the assumption that any 16'' wheel can support a 225 tire.. But the offset and center bore (in my view) is very critical.

In this light, the Sparco Terra's have a 63.4mm center bore and a 45mm offset. The wheels being 7'' and not the factory 6.5 inch wide have offered slightly better handling and stance. As one of my other post stated, I've just recently noticed a slight negative camber on the rear of the van.

Lastly, I'm still hoping to purchase a set of 225's on the van as this will have to wait until we wear out the current 215's..

Full Specs:

▸ Sparco Terra "Gray" 16'' x 7''
▸ Center Bore: 63.4mm
▸ Offset/ET: 45mm
▸ Bolt Pattern: 5x108 (5x4.25)
▸ Maxxis Victra 215/55/16 Tires "Directional" Load Rated 97
▸ Chrome Lugs from TireRack
▸ Locking Lugs from Dorman

PCD 5x108 63.4 wheels -Wheelfitment.eu | PCD, Offset, Center Bore, mounting and tire size data

Hope this helps others figure out what type of wheels & tires they want to use on their van.

Also and as a question, Has anyone installed anything 225 or larger (roughly 26.1 inches) on the current Transit Connect?.. No one need to post: "Looks good on paper, it's only 10mm off" I've already heard this. I want to see images. thx.

Speaking of tires; I read somewhere that some 2017 TCs may come with 17" wheels.

@Evan

Yes most Gen2's have an option of 16'' or 17'' wheels.. But I think you're referring to 17'' as "standard" wheel size for the 2017 TC. Just reports and I've seen nothing definite.
