79 to 80 300 differences?

My 300 in my 1980 is starting to knock and tick. I'm looking at 79 300 from an F150. Any compatibility issues I should be aware of? From the searching I've done it appears the 79 and 80 300's are the same?

It should slip right in. To my knowledge, there was little to no changes to the block or ignition system from 79 to 80.

Thanks. I picked it up today. I probably won't have the time until spring to get it in the truck.

Not an oily mess like the motor was in my project. I replaced the valve cover, side cover & oil pan gaskets, hope that fixes mine.

I can see that motor has the thin plate used between motor & bell housing man can I use that (hint hint )

Also did that motor have AC? It is hard to see but it looks like it may have mounting brackets for the compressor (York?) if so another hint hint.

I'll have to see what I need to use first then I can let you know. It won't be until spring time before I can get to it though.

I hear you on need to know what part are needed before you get rid of them.
The plate is what I need more than AC brackets as my project did not have one installed when I got it.

When you know let me know
Thanks
