I understand you want to make your own bed and I can appreciate that. But just let me throw this out. Midwest Early Ford sells stock beds for $600. They sell on eBay.

They don't ship to Canada and if the do the shipping cost more than the box does.

I'd suggest a Google search 'cause I think I recall the angle question being asked not that long ago. I don't have a 1/2 ton bed to give the pocket info. Stu

I didn't see where you are located. That is definitely a draw back!

Yes, Stu is correct. A couple of weeks ago there was a thread asking the same thing. Guys responded with the angle but I don't remember what it was.

I think oldcrowbarber was the fella building his own bed, he put on the angles if I recall correctly, though there have been a few recently building them

Nice truck!! I like what you've done with it. I think Ford missed the mark by not offering a "box" configuration for the F4,F5. A larger box to fit the longer frames I believe would have been attractive to consumers in that market. Besides , who could say no to a factory built pickup on steroids!!! Good work, I like your vision.

This is what I based mine off of. If you have a way to bend long sheets or know someone who can, my box cost me $400 ($500 including the bed floor) including my custom tail gate. Just a bit(alot) of welding.
