'96 Budget Build

Well I just pulled the truck into the shop. Got most of what I need, got a turbo I rebuilt ready for install, new up pipes, new manifolds, new performance rotors and pads on its way, and most important beer . I Ceramic coated the manifolds and turbo exhaust aside. Also plan on wrapping the pipes with titanuim heat wrap and I have fire cloth (for welding) on the manifolds. I'll post pics as I progress for anyone else interested. Also I'm open to any pointers, thanks in advance.

One pointer..."Budget" and "Build" don't go in the same sentence with these trucks LOL

But for real, sounds like you are off to a great start.

Didn't like the $$$$ figured I'd deal with these considering the ones on there now don't leak at the joints, it only leaks at the small hole rusted in it. Lol

Has anyone seen bolts this clean? I can tell they're old though. I'm just surprised at how little rust this truck has overall. Bought out of Oregon. After working on this I'd recommend northwestern truck to everyone

Yep! NW Trucks are awesome! Why not weld in your own bellows? That's what I just did.

Just a thought.. If you ever have an exhaust leak on those uppipes, it's going to be pretty difficult to see it now that you painted them black.

Good point. When I get out of active service and move home I plan on doing a full engine overhaul. With that I'll weld in my own bellows when the engine is out. So probably about two more years or so
