Queston of the Week: Does the new Raptor have enough power?
The 2017 F150 Raptor will officially offer 450 horsepower and 510lb-ft of torque, making it one of the most powerful half ton production trucks ever...but are you happy with those power levels?
Make your pick in the poll above and if you think that the new Raptor should have had more power, explain why in the thread below.

Numbers are just that. What matters is how the truck performs. Based on the EB in the other F150s, that should be a nice amount of straight line performance.
I'm exactly in the target demographic for that truck and I'm really into the idea of it, but until they offer it with a forced induction V8 (preferably twin-screw) with that legendary Ford V8 soundtrack, it's not worth a second look to me. But I guess it's just as well since Ford still got me to buy an optioned up F150 with a (sadly perhaps one of the last) Ford V8.

Ford is trying to walk the line between pleasing customers, and making the CAFE standards (they get fined $14 for every .1 mpg over the limit, times the number of vehicles sold). And if you think it's bad now, wait ten years. Vehicles are going to get lighter, smaller, and have less horsepower. Elections have consequences that go way beyond what the average person is aware of (most people are more concerned with watching American Idol).

And while they're squeezing every last tiny iota for increasingly exponentially small savings from the automotive industry, they're ignoring areas where they could be making much more substantial gains in reducing emissions by taking the first few simple and inexpensive steps in a number of other areas. But this is the government after all, who operate unencumbered by the thought process.

IMHO...nothing stock about a Raptor with 3.5L EB engine. With that said, 510 ft lbs is a tremendous amount of torque.
Heck...I think the stock 3.5L EB in the F150 line is going to be a powerhouse. Going with...
375 hp and 470 ft lbs of torque is awesome for what the truck was designed to do.
