Manifold Leak - Should I just replace?

My 78 f100 has always had a terrible gasket leak at the rear of the intake manifold. A few years ago, I pulled both the intake and exhaust manifolds and replaced the gasket.

Unfortunately, the leak still persists. I am thinking that something is warped, and I was thinking I should just go ahead and replace the intake and exhaust manifolds. Does this sound like the logical next step in troubleshooting? I also remember seeing extra thick gaskets were available. Does anyone have any experience with using one?

They do warp but the usual fix is to have the mating surfaces machined 'true'.

So instead of replacing the intake, take it to the machine shop and have them machine it true?

Is it safe to assume that the engine block (or head?) is not going to be prone to warp as well? Again assuming so, but I have to ask anyway.

This is how your resurface a head on the cheap. A manifold is the same.

The head is almost certainly not warped in that direction. I've never heard of it happening. Even if it did you should be able to get it to seal, it's not a high pressure seal like a head gasket.
