Hi. First post to the forums, but have been readin and googling my issue for a week now and thought id ask some of you guys. I have a 05 F250. Just did a small 2" lift to fit a rough country dual steering stabilizer and got new tires and wheels. The front lift was from rough country. Just 2" blocks for the coils. Install was simple, went fine. After all the work I got an alignment. Drives perfect. Then....i looked and noticed my driver side wheel was stickin out 3/4 of and inch to 1" further than the other side. Did reseach (since this is my first lift). Realized the axle is off center because of the lift. Called rough country. They said yah it happens sometimes, even though no mention on there site it "could" happen. I know I can drive it forever like it is with no issues, but im a perfectionist and its drivin me crazy that the axle is off center. So my choice....an adjustable track bar. Or a drop bracket. I have read post after post about this. Id like an adjustable track bar. But they are expensive....then theres the drop bracket debate. All the posts i have read said u need a pitman drop too if you do a track bar drop bracket. If i technically wasnt suppose to need to do any of this with a 2" lift.....which way is correct? Id like to just do a drop bracket for the track bar. Why would i have to do a pitman drop bracket too? (If i wasnt suppose to need all this in the first place).? Im getting mixed info from all i have read. Would appreciate some suggestion/opinions.

Some guy on ebay has an adjustable track bar for like 89 dollars... But ofcourse its for a 99-04 only. All the ones for 05+ have that bend to them and cost alot.

 

I'm not an expert on lift kits but going up only 2" in front is not (in my opinion) going to move the axel 3/4s of an inch .... I'm thinking something else is going on, do you have any pictures?

 

You do the pitman arm with the trac bar drop bracket because you have to keep the drag link and trac bar close to parallel or you can or you get bump steer; not saying it will happen at your relatively small height change, just that's exactly how you can cause bump steer, only adjusting one component. The adjustable bar can be set to multiple points based on keeping the suspension aligned and axle centered and you can change it based on how the truck drives. Or just leave it alone, because it's a lot of money and work for something that really doesn't matter.

My 2.5" lower spacer leveling kit moved the axle over almost an inch, it happens.

 

Thanks for the replies Texastech and Twiggs. I thought the same thing. A small lift shouldnt move it much. I called rough country and they said it can happen. The alignement people did say anything when i got it done. I scowered forums and actually a lot of people have had a similar issue with small lifts. I know the fixes, but i feel it shouldnt have moved that much. And if it did move it youd think it be so little it wouldnt be noticable. Il try and get some pics posted.
