2017 6.6L Duramax Upgrades
I know there is a thread about the increased power, but here is an article explaining the upgraded internals.
Sounds like GM did their homework with some very solid upgrades to a great platform.

Sounds similar to upgrades Ford did in 2015 to the 6.7. Stronger crank, block, heads,, upgraded injectors, turbo, noise reduction, fuel systems, etc. Very nice.
Yes, the GM/Isuzu designed 6.6 engine looks good on paper and hopefully will be great in real world driving/towing.
IMO, the big 3 trying to out do each other and take the crown, is a very good thing for the industry...
UGA33, thanks, that was a good article on this upgraded 6.6 Isuzu/gm engine.

They are more finicky about water/debris when compared to the CP3s. They run at a higher pressure also but don't supply the volume the CP3s could.
I believe the new D/Max's are going to Denso HP pumps. They are also getting factory lift pumps.

I hope Denso figured their stuff out. Mercedes used Denso for a few years on their 4 cylinder diesels....injectors at the time were complete garbage.

They strengthened the front end parts significantly in 2011 on the HDs. I am a auto tech and in our area I replace ball joints and front end parts on all three brands pretty well equally. I don't see the GM front ends as being a big issue for durability. I do a lot of 3/4 ton and 1 ton suspension work. I think all three brands have some pretty good trucks. Makes it great for the consumer

LOL that's the funniest thing I've ever heard tell a plow driver of the Chevy he won't need much maintenance, considering you can't even put a 9 ft 6 V on a Duramax due to the weak front design they claimed GVW was the issue, and please don't tell me they'll do it they will do anything you ask doesn't make it right friend just had a gmc 3500 16 told they can't install the plow had to put a straight 8 ft blade on LOL . I am someone who drove Chevy trucks for years for work the front end fell apart on a regular basis driving company trucks, plowing 2 years of work and you could be ready for a twelve to fourteen hundred dollar bill have upper and lower ball joints and all connecting parts replaced. Of course I'm talking commercial plowing not your personal driveway please everyone knows it's true. the last truck I sold 2009 F350 168000 miles original ball joints with oversized tires LOL Chevy will never touch that take care
