Changes to MD historic tags

Anyone going to be affected by changes to the Historic registration that just went into affect?

The highlights are:
  • No use of vehicle to drive to or from work or school.
  • Model years 1986 or later are no longer exempted from state inspection.
  • Equipment repair orders can now be issued by police.

Well that really stinks! I hope Delaware doesn't follow.
We always had the rule about not using your historic vehicle as a daily driver but I still do and never been questioned about my use. My tags are free and no inspection needed.

I was going to put my 1988 F250 up for sale, but this change is going to make it a more difficult sale.
I do live just a couple of miles from the DE border though, so maybe I'll find a buyer there anyway.

In order to register as an antique in DE, the vehicle must go through inspection one time and if everything passes you are good for life.

so in reference with my seventy five,I already have my title,,will i have to go threw state inspection,,work in progress

The DMV will send you a notice if you have to.....

Turns out there was a last-minute amendment to the new law. Historic and Street Rod tags are still exempt from the MD inspection!
