My 2 local dealers have been unable to reprogram the speedo for the 2017. Where I live, I have a speedo check on Interstate 5, there I was able to find out my odometer is off by 9.5%. So, when I calculate my full tank average, I simply add 9.5% to my driven miles, then divide by gallons.

Hauled the horse trailer to Charleston, SC and back this weekend (about 350 miles). About half of the trip was on the interstate at 75 mph and half on secondary roads with a top speed of 60 mph. Averaged 10.6 mpg for the trip.

Pretty good. What was your weight?

Right about 8,000 lbs with the horse, feed, shavings, water, etc. For this show, we only took one horse.

Hauled to Aiken Saturday. A lot more hills, 75-80 mph 90% of the trip. Averaged 9.4 mpg. Not too shabby for a gasser.

Been extremely pleased with the truck. Was able to easily accelerate to 80 mph going up a long grade in order to pass an idiot on their phone. The 6.2L 4x2 with the 4.30 is a great combination.

Nice job. What tire/wheel size are you running and what RPS where you turning going 75-80?

Running the stock 275/65R18E tires. Can't remember what the average RPM was, but she didn't get over 4,000 rpm when downshifting to pull a hill.

My average pulling a 20 foot 14k gvr trailer with an 8000 lb mini excavator on is 7 mpg.
That's mostly highway miles. I'm going 65 mph with the trans in manual mode in 5th gear. Same trailer empty against a headwind I'm 7.5-8 mpg. I don't run without a trailer often. Starting to wish I would have bought a 6.7.

My breakpoint is right around 12,000 to 13,000 lbs. If I'm pulling more than that on a regular basis, I would seriously consider diesel.

I hear you here. I always had my breakpoint 10-12k. The 2k margin was dependent on how much long distance towing was involved.

The truck this one replaced was a 99 7.3 4x4 CC SRW SB. I made the move because of the HP and Torque of the 6.2 figuring I'd lose mileage going to gas but it would be offset by the lower cost of fuel and maintenance. I suppose I'm just getting used to being back in a gas truck. I just get annoyed that what was a light weight pull for my 7.3 seems to work this truck more and I mean a lot more. I understand they're totally different rigs but MAN it drives me crazy pulling against a headwind and having the truck downshift into 4th with an empty trailer just to climb an overpass. I guess that's the price I pay for the torque moving up the RPM range.

What are the specs and gears of your truck?
