Adjusting Doors

Is it possible to adjust the door hinges with out at least partially removing the front fender?

Having the same problem on my '92 F-250. Is there a special tool that you can buy that will reach around the door without removing anything?

Do the hinges need adjustment or is the top pin just worn making the door sag?

How do you tell the difference? If I was to guess, I'd say it was the door that needed to be adjusted instead of a worn hinge pin.

On mine it is actually the door that needs to be adjusted. There is no movement in the hinge.

Hopefully someone knows of a way to accomplish this. I still haven't found one.

I found a really bad way to do it. If you unbolt the door from the hinge you can get at the bolts holding the hinge to the cab. So you move the hinge on the cab, put the door back on and see if you guessed right. Then you take the door back off and try again. It's almost impossible to get it right that way, but you might be able to get it good enough.

That was going to be my last resort.

When I swapped the '95 front clip onto my '88, the only way to adjust the doors from what I could see would be to have the fenders off. Fenders aren't that hard to take off if you're mechanically inclined. Just make sure everything is unbolted from it in the engine bay, undo the fender liners, unbolt from the rad support and the cab, support the hood with a prybar or chunk of wood, and you're good to go. If you're doing both, take off the hood and you should be able to do it within a day
