I recently bought my 03 F250 and its been a little abused, i replaced the drivers door lock switch and that fixed the pdl's but the remote that was in the arm rest still doesnt work... I am going to try reprograming it, but is there any tell tale sign that my truck is actually equipted with remote entry? I dont know for sure this is for the truck.

 

Did you check the battery inside the remote? I just bought an 03 F350 back in April and I have 2 remotes, The one works when I'm about 10 feet from the truck and the other doesn't work at all, I'm sure they're just dead / dying batteries, the truck is 13 years old.

 

Actually i was in advance auto asking about new remotes, handed the one i had to a buddy that works there and he said that one was fine... When i asked how he knew, he pointed to a little box on the display that was lighting up everytime he pressed the remote, so im guessing the battery is ok.

 

Do you have an XL XLT or Lariat? XL didn't come with RDL XLT is a toss up, Lariat has RDL, also if you do have RDL is it Factory or aftermarket?

If the reprogramming doesn't work then Id think either your module is bad or maybe you have the after market system and there is a different programming method for the FOB's.
