i have a 2003 f350 6.0. awhile back i was driving down the road and it died. popped the hood and there was a small amount of oil sprayed on the hood. rocker arm bolt had broke. that's been replaced and no it won't start. cranks and acts like it will what to fire for a second then it just cranks and does nothing. reading the tech on no start issues theres a lot to look at. any suggestions on where to start would be appreciated

 

Welcome Lomustine you sure know how to start off with your first post. We need to find out if you have low oil pressure and High pressure oil pump pressure.

if you have anyway to give us some information we can help you out. Options are the Scan Gauge 2 or Torque app for your phone. Worst case scenario you sent debris through the low pressure oil pump rotor gear from the rocker arm mishap. Were you in the engine at anytime before this happened?

 

I hadn't been in the engine. had only had the truck for about a mth when this happened. I'll download the torque app and check tomorrow. my truck is over at a a buddys house

 

Torque app for your phone and you also need the ELM327 OBD 2 port interface which Blue-tooths to your phone.

 

got the elm327 in finally no codes popped up. when we try to start it there is no oil coming up where the filter is.

 

Low pressure oil pump feeds that, have a look.

 

how do i check that?
