Transfer case compatibility

Ok so via some research I it seems that 2005-2010 use the same tcase with the same spline count across the board. My truck is a 2005 so i trying to stay 2005+ as ive read manual tranny and automatics were all over the place 99-2004. Im trying to find a decent used transfercase that will work with my truck. the truck is a 2005 6.0 zf6 with the manual tcase

Have you tried Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market It's a nationwide salvage yard database, and I've had great luck with it.

What happened to your transfer case?

On my way to work i heard a loud pop similar to a backfire. Lost all motion in 2wd. In 4wd the truck moves but makes noise. I havent had a chance to dig into the issue. Trying to sort out options. If i know what models of trucks the transfercase was used then it helps me search. Car-part lists all nv271 as compatible. Id hate to spend $1000 and find out they are wrong.
