did the 360's have flat top pistons? i'm trying to decide whether or not my spare engine is a 360 or a 390, when i measure the stroke with the head off its a little above 3.50 which would mean 360 but if i take another tool and measure it is 3.65 ish which is a half way almost. if it matters it had c8 heads on it but that doesn't mean much.

thanks Cleveland, when i measured the stroke i forgot to account that the piston was about 1/8" in the hole.

 

Look at the counterweights on the crank. If they have a bit of a taper on them it is a 390. If they are squared off it's a 360.
