Saying Goodbye To The 48

I was at a car show Saturday and a couple was looking over the 48 pretty close. They asked me if was for sale and I said NO, well Maybe. They asked me what the price would be so I told them and they said ok. They came over today to inspect the truck, we did the wheel and deal a little, Shook hand and they take delivery tomorrow morning. I am not sure how my grandson is going to take this. It's going to be tough to part with this truck.

Yours was an interesting build, well presented. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you.
Over the years, many vehicles have passed through my hands. Only a very few do I have regrets selling. I've always felt anything I owned was for sale if someone wanted it badly enough.
Enjoy your other toys.

It's sad to see the memories go but maybe you and your grandson can work on the next one for him together.

Yep, time to find another.

I had to double take on your truck. I was wondering what in the world you did with the paint. The I realized that your paint is so good you can see the other cars flames on your truck.

I'm sure the new owners will really enjoy your truck. Hopefully you will start another before long.

Broke the news to my Grandson yesterday, he was not very happy. After I explained to him that we can always build a new project he still was sad but started thinking what we might do next. His dad has a 73 Charger and wants me to put a new style Hemi Hellcat power train in it, don't know if I am going to do that. I really need a sedan project, something that I can put three car seats in, the other grand kids are getting older and want to go with Papa too.
I really blew it a couple of months ago when I was negoiating on a vintage 40 Ford 4 door sedan, it would of been perfect for having fun with the kids, buyer and seller could not agree on price.
If I build another truck I already know some of the things that I would do different. I have watched Rimrock's truck build and a Coyote would be in my next truck if I build one, except it would be a Monkey Face, no manure in my future.

Hellcat engines are very expensive these days. A popular upgrade to '60s and '70s Mopars. I like your idea about a Coyote in a monkey face.

What is it with 40 Ford sedan sellers. I had one I was serious about and at the last minute the owner decided he needed more dollars. That was after agreeing to a price we we had settled on before I made the third trip to get it. Ended up with the Studebaker at a much better price.
