Im looking at my fron braKES , and I see the drivers side u joint is munched. How difficult, and any tips or tricks?

Pull the caliper, then the rotor, then the spindle, axel will then pull out.

 

X2 what he said, stop at the spindle. Insp your ball joints for needing replacement since you are that deep into it. Also insp the hub races and maybe replace the inner and outer wheel bearings? NEW tap in seal on the back side of the hub. Top it off with a brakes since are there.

Also reassembly IAW the manuals and use a torque wrench for the front hub nuts.

The spindle can be a PITA to remove, hard face side of a BA rubber or rawhide mallet or a piece of 2x4 then a 5 lb sledge. YOU DO NOT WANT TO MESS UP THOSE THREADS OR SHAFT on the spindle!!
