Built two trucks with Chrysler torsion bar front suspensions and used stock 1989 Chrysler 5th Avenue shocks on both. They gave a nice soft ride which is what I was looking for. If you want more than a cruiser you might want to look at performance shocks but the stock shocks work well for a cruiser.

Yeah, I just replaced some Monroe little short guys on the front. They are quite small, I forget the number. I am very low in the front, the bottom edge of the bumper is maybe 10" off the ground, so i need short shocks. They just looked to me Like 68 VW bug shocks, being so short and quite skinny. I thought well no wonder the ones I put on about 4 years ago would no longer extend themselves.

Jim...local company, Race Car Dynamics (RCD), builds custom Bilstein shocks for me and has a custom design for an F100 with a Volare IFS. I know of 4 sets in existence; me, a buddy with a 55, a club member with a 56, and "okiedokie" here on the FTE. Last time I ordered a few sets they were $150/pair. Hard to beat Bilsteins...
