Any love for the regular cabs?

Not me. I need room in the cab for rifles, fishing rods, helmets, and all sorts of other gear. They also seem to have a lot less leg room, and the seat can't lean back as far (6'6" here).
But if it suits your needs, don't worry about what anyone else thinks.

Ill admit, I do miss the extra space. leg room hasnt affected me though (6'3" here) I actually feel a bit more comfortable in this as opposed to my GMC

Was on the fence as to getting a Crew Cab or Super Crew. Thought the Super Crew would be too much. Knew a regular cab wouldn't work. Glad I got the SC, we fill up the space easily on race trips.

My dad has a regular cab pickup and loves it. It's perfect for what he needs. Nice looking truck btw.

I would love a RCSB with a 3.5L Eco, but sadly you need the long bed for that. I've considered one with a 2.7, but my main issue is with incentives they are 90% of the cost of the crew cabs with 100% less features available. Main reason I want an RCSB is because I'm mostly city driving. What I really want is a new Ranger. I loved my 2007. Almost bought a 2011 Sport, but they are just too bad on features and gas (not to mention finding one with 60K miles on it or less) costs 20K.

I drive 98% of the time by myself. 3 times a week I have my daughter but thats it. Did I want all the extra space of a crew cab.. Sure, did I "need" it, Not really. This truck was loaded up compared to the crew cabs I looked at that were still a few k more. I just couldnt justify going up in money for a back seat and no options. Besides if we go anywhere, my GF has a 2015 crew cab f150, and if we really need the room. I do have an excursion.

"Vos ledo calvum in dextrum capitis", or you hit the nail right on the head. The key to vehicle happiness is to own one for every mission and don't make them try and do all the jobs. Plus it keeps function-less miles off the more expensive rigs.

My first two trucks were standard cab long beds (or standard beds, as they were called back then) and did just fine for my needs back then. If I was going camping, I had a shell for one of them that I would throw on for the trip to keep gear dry and semi-secure.
My last and current trucks are supercabs, which are a sweet spot for stuff I do these days. The supercab lets me store extra, and sometimes expensive gear like guns and cameras in the cab, and the 6.5' bed is still long enough for me to do stuff (with the tailgate down) like lay drywall flat and fully supported, which is kinda my criteria for a working truck bed.
I actually kinda wish Ford had the same option on the supercab that Toyota offers on the Tacoma "work truck", which is a rear passenger seat delete. I've rarely carried passengers in the back (I have an SUV for that) and having just open space behind the front seats opens up all kinds of storage possibilities.
