Key in ignition beeping, with no key. Okay to cut wire?
Okay, the "key in ignition" beep is constantly sounding if the truck is off, and the door open. Even with no key I'm the ignition. I had the steering column cover off to look at it, and found that if I disconnect this pink/black wire it stops.
Am I fine to just cut and tape off this wire? I don't really need the reminder, and the beeping is annoying when I'm working on the truck and have the door open. But I don't wanna just go snipping wires that might affect something else.

So no side effects from disconnecting? Awesome. I'll probably just wrap it up to make sure it doesn't contact something and start dinging again. Man I'll be glad to have that noise gone.
Now I gotta figure out shutting off the seatbelt reminder that doesn't work. Not quite as annoying, but still... I read somewhere I can turn it off, I'm gonna try that today.

If you use AE or similar to check codes it will give you a 'key in ignition circuit' code. Mines disconnected and i just ignore it.
For the seat belt minder see if this works for you

I haven't tried that method for the belt minder yet, but I tried the method outlined in the owners manual (basically the same, but it says to buckle and unbuckle 3 times, not 9). But then I just gave up and unplugged the wires under the seat... Still came on... Not sure what else to do then, lol. I'll try the method you posted later today when the wife gets back with the truck.
