Accelerator pedal problems and more!

Cutting to the chase, I bought an 1984 Ford F-150 XLT GOLD with a red white and blue rainbow on the emblem. It has the 302 in it, which was seized but it didn't take much to free. My problem is that the accelerator pedal is stuck all the way down.

Here's what i know: the truck has been sitting for maybe two years, I haven't checked anything on the fuel system yet including pumps and lines, I have checked the cable and it doesn't seem to do anything. even with the gas pedal resting on the ground the carburetor flap is closed and the throttle is not engaged. When I try and pick the pedal up its very hard to lift and stops at a certain point due to some kind of stop behind the top of the pedal shaft above the pivot point. I'm not sure is the accelerator cable is hooked up properly on the throttle body due to lack of pictures on the internet lol or bad research!

Here is some imagery looking into the engine bay from the front of the truck there's the carburetor with the rectangle flap with rounded edges on the right side there's what looks like the accelerator cable with a spring on it and beside it there is maybe a brake cable with one of those chains that goes on the ceiling fans or dog tags lol beside the accelerator cable there's some kind so spring mechanism that i can move with my finger and a stop so when i pull it back and let it go the stop stops it. but it does nothing!! on the other side of the carb there's another spring mechanism that when i move it opens the flap on the carb also there's a plunger thing on the end of it going to some small cylinder thing looks like this {} it really kinda looks like that. but when i move the spring mechanism it seems like the plunger should retract but it does not and there's no cables or hoses coming from the cylinder {} thing so im not sure whats what! i have an 88 with a single barrel carb and the straight 6 and this 302 looks like a spaceship compared to it! but i hope all that helped. if you would like to answer that question you can stop reading here, im about to bore yall with more problems lol

here's the more!! What in the world is the gold package from what i've read its just a dealership package with little extras but some of the stuff i've noticed is there's old metal locking gas caps, i have both my tanks. the hood latch release is on the top under the dash instead of the side like my 88 and it also has a lock hole on it. it has power windows and power locks but what i find the weirdest is the emblem F-150 XLT GOLD on the quarter panels I've only found one picture of another one and it was on this website. if you have more incite into the gold package please let me know! thanks

lastly for now lol the previous owner lost the key and had to change the ignition cylinder so now i cant open up the gas tank! how in the world do i get these old school metal locking gas caps off! i really don't want to lift the bed to take the filler neck out! but that's it folks that's pretty much my life right now me trying to rack my brain trying to figure out how someone could mash the gas so hard they confuse a young man and then loose all the keys! lol thanks for the help guys and sorry for the long read

Is this post a joke? Or are you serious?

No I'm serious, you can't drive a truck without a gas pedal. Also I tried to provide as much detail as possible because I could not find any results online, how does this seem like a joke? Maybe I can clear up some of the confusion.

See the piece he has in his hand? That just prys off with a screwdriver off the ball stud. Pry that off and it will separate the cable from the carb. Then see what happens.

The "ceiling fan pull chain" is for the Speed Control (aka Cruise Control in GM terms).

Yes, pictures, please.

I figured it out! The flaps inside the carborator are rusted shut, I noticed that the throttle shaft wasn't moving so I decided to take the carborator off and see what's going on and it's soaking in carb cleaner right now and I have a rebuild kit ready to go on tomorrow. Thanks for the help everyone! I couldn't of done it without y'all! Any questions let me know!

For future reference anyone with their gas pedal sitting on the floor here's a great link

Basically, it seems that your carburetor was stuck in the "wide-open" position and thus, the gas pedal was down to the floor.
