I've had at least two, maybe 3 counting the OEM hoses to fail. I have designed a SS, teflon lined hose with appropriate fittings from th ps pump up to the hydro boost. I have not installed yet simply due to hot weather and no failure of my existing hose. I plan to post the info with pics, part numbers/names when I get a chance. I see no reason for it not working. However, I will carry a spare OEM hose just in case.

If it was the psi line from the pump to the hydroboost, same seal got me last week.
I was 120 miles from home. Luckily, the irish store had it for the same price u paid. I think it would have been easier if i had removed the intercooler pipe but managed to get it changed from the top side in the dark in about 45 mins. Figured out this week i bent my dipstick in the process but was able to fix it.

Here is a pic of the hose I came up with based upon the end fittings at the hydro boost and the ps pump. I have not installed mine just due to heat and time. The pressure is about 1500 to 2000 psi on this hose and the teflon lined stainless braided hose along with the fittings are good for that pressure.
The fitting at the pump is a 90 deg. 16mmx1.5 o-ring x 6 AN/JIC and the hydro boost fitting is a 16mm x 1.5 metric adapter fitting.
Probably need to allow for some slack in the hose due to the pressure allowing the hose to move/flex.
I have plans to identify each of the fittings by name/part number soon. I still plan to carry a spare OEM hose and the piece I will remove from the hydro boost just in case of a failure while on the road.

There is a big difference between the box store hoses and the Ford OEM hoses. The Ford ones have a much more sturdy hex/o-ring assembly that attaches to the tubing whereas the box stores use a "crimping" method to hold the hex nut/o-ring assembly around the bump on the tubing. m If you wish to carry a spare I would suggest spending the $$ for the Ford unit or installing the Ford unit and keeping a box store hose as a spare.
My hope with the SS braided line is that if a failure occurs it will be a leak and not a complete blow out like so many of us has experienced leaving one without any power assist whatsoever, scary, been there too.

Agree with lhud on this too. My replacements were all OEM ... spendy but worth the piece of mind for me.
