You get a hot wire and touch the down hill side wires and find which one lights up where, mark it or write it down. Then go to the uphill side and find what is sending power. I had it figured out in about an hour. Front back left right, aint that hard.

John
Which would be the nearest hot wire near the wires down there?

You aught to be able to tag one at the ign switch or fuse box.

A 72 T/S switch is different from a 68 switch. Your dash connector would be different than a 72 switch. Try mating up the colors below that I got from the site ultraranger posted above in post #9.

79 white red is hazard switch. I didn't use this one. I kept the hazard switch on my dash. You could easily wire the 79 column switch in if you like.

79 Blue/red is the indicator light. I didn't hook it up. If you want to hook it up, just splice in to your dash lights. No big deal.

79 yellow = ground for the horn. The 78/79 horn has two wires. The yellow is the ground, so ground it out.

79 dark Blue to 71 Blue yellow
79 light green to 71 light green
79 orange blue to 71 orange blue
79 light blue to 71 light blue
79 green white to 71 green white
79 green orange to 71 green orange
79 white blue to 71 white blue

In the above wiring schematic you will see the T/S switch towards the bottom on the right side. 6 wires going to it and to it's dash wiring plug. Each of these wires are marked on this schematic with a circuit number. The left side of the schematic lists what color the wires are in the circuits.

This was exactly what i was looking for...

I was digging deeper today and think i found some more issues. I was checking to see what wires from the harness has power. Appears that only the horn is getting power. I checked all the fuses and those are fine and I even replaced the flasher signal flashers (They were rusted and not receiving any power). I check to see what power was running to the cluster and seems like there is only one wire that is receiving power in the harness which is a green-red wire 904 ( http://www.fordification.com/tech/wiring/68-09.jpg)... My gauge lights are working so im guessing this wire is sending power to the lights.

So im only getting power to the horn wire on the column harness and only power to the green-red wire #904

Popped the hood and looked at the wires running threw the fire wall and noticed that these two wires are unplugged... ive tried looking online and cannot find what the wires are and where they run.. could this be the power issue inside the cab?

No. That is for a back up lamp switch IF your truck came with a 3 speed on the column. There should be a jumper wire in that so your B/UP lights will work.

Yeah it appears that it originally came with a three speed on the tree and the automatic conversion was made and he swapped in this 73-79 column. What would you think the issue with power to only the horn wire and the green-red wire in the cluster?

Do you have the ignition switch to "ON" when you tested for power? Remember, the key has to be on to use the T/S.

checked the fuses again and noticed that the 14amp fuse and the 2 amp fuse where not working.. pulled both and they look blown, thought I checked them. Also saw that one of the fuses is a blow SFE 9 which appears to be a 9amp fuse.. hoping that this is the issue.

Changed out the fuse and started mating up the wires. Now I'm only getting power to the horn and to the turn signal power wire. My hazards from my dash are now working. And when I mate up the rear wires both turn signals flash when I turn the signal switch.

So. Now after mating everything up and checking wires again. Only my front right turn signal will work and when I turn it on both tail lights flash. The front left turn signal does not work but when It on both tail lights flash. Also ony the left rear light comes on with the headlights but both rear lights work when I press the brakes... and ideas anyone?

Well, 1st I'd like to know which year Dent steering column you got. So I know which year T/S switch you got. To find an exact schematic. By chance can you see the engineering number tag on the T/S switch's wires?
