Aftermaket Sending unit

I bought a Stewart warner gauge kit and the send unit is 240 ohm full and 33 ohm empty. So do I need to change my sending unit??

Yeah. The factory gauge is 70/10 full if I remember right.

I think changing the gauge would be a lot easier than changing the sending unit. I bet SW offers one correct for Ford of this vintage.

It would also be a lot easier someday in the future when you may replace the sending unit.

I've already replaced all of my gauges. Just had trouble with the fuel. Here's a pic to show how nice they look.

That's a nice looking panel!

Here is a link that I hope works for a SW fuel gauge from Summit with Ford calibration. $37 and should fit right in. Much easier and less expensive vs a custom sending unit.

OK, so did you buy the dash bezel or make it? If you bought it, from who, price and thoughts on it. If you made it, where are the slew of pictures and write up on it?

The gauge kit came with all the stuff it's just me wanting it to be easier than it is.

I got it from classicdash.com
It's pretty solid. Not flimsy or anything looks great and holds all 6 gauges. I believe it was like $180. I added some turn signal indicators that were meant for motorcycles but work awesome on the truck. I was kind of bummed out because the dash wouldn't work with the north country specialties din radio bracket because the bracket sticks out too far and interferes with the bezel. Good thing the bezel is strong enough to support the stereos weight so it worked out in the end. All in all I love the thing. I went for the one with the ac vent hole even though I don't have air conditioning as I plan to add it hopefully in the near future cause I live in Phoenix.
