Warranty Question

We just bought a 2017 Explorer Limited
At the closing the question cane up about the extended warranty
For 100k 72 months they want 2100 plus tax
They said that was half price
Anyone tell me if this is a good deal
We have till Monday to decide

Thanks for any help..

If I'm not mistaken, you have a lot longer than Monday to decide. Although the price does go up a bit if you wait you can purchase the extended warranty at any time up until the factory warranty expires. When I bought my F350 I waited two and a half years and then decided that since it had never needed any warranty repairs I wouldn't buy it. When I bought my 2014 Sport, thinking that I was going to keep it for quite a while, I used the $2,000 cash back they were offering at the time to buy the extended warranty. I guess it was a waste of money since it's never been back to the dealer and I'll be trading it soon.
The bit about you have 'till Monday sounds like just a bit of dealer high pressure sales tactic.

The car already carries a 36K warranty right? (I'm not sure) So youre getting 64K miles for your money. Several brands come with a factory 100k warranty, so there must not be much repair risk

No big rush, but if it's a Ford ESP you'll pay an extra $100 once you're past 12 months/12K miles. Go to Flood Ford on the 'net and check their prices to see if the quote you got is a good deal or not.
