high boy question

ive been restoring my 75 highboy but ive decided to go a different direction with it and give it a twist
ive got 6.2l out of a raptor that will go in it.
the question I have is, im using the 75 frame and the body obviously.
there will have to be fab work for that motor and im aware. not scared of fab work. the question is the axels. obviously I cant use the 75 stock axels. would it be a better idea to get newer style of f250 axels or the axels off of the raptor. yes a lot of fab work will have to go on them to get them to work. but needing just a little help on what would be the better route for axels.
thanks in advance

The stock axles should be able to handle the 6.2. Your bigger problem will be all the electronics changes it is gonna take to make the 6.2 and tranny actually work.

I had an idea much like your,s, except I want to put the body onto the raptor frame. Again getting it to work is the major hurdle.

I had the same idea going through my head. I had a lot of it drawn out. Measurements, ect. Pretty good game plan, but the hurdle of me paying 15-20k for a truck I'm going to destroy didn't make sense. Unfortunately that was raptors with a hit and roll over. Blew my mind. Made more sense to go this route

The stock axels are pretty rough. And kind of out of the question. That's why I asked this question. Electronic problem is a little crazy but I have a buddy that is a mad scientist in that area and my situation, so I'm confident it'll be no problem. And that the beer fridge will be empty lol

Now a days there are several companies out there that either sell stand alone, plug and play electronics, or they can take the wiring you have and completely build a custom harness to get these things to run. I know the C10 boys have it made with the LS swaps - there are at least half a dozen companies that do this kind of work.

I'm currently drooling over doing a 5.0 Coyote swap into my truck.....if only I were rich!

The stock 44 front 60 rear should hold up fine. If you really want beefy axles you could get a 60 front 80 rear but that would be overkill for you IMO. Either way, go through whatever axles you use with a full rebuild and upgrade to disc front brakes if you dont already have them.

Getting newer axles to go in the front of these trucks is a pain due to the relatively narrow frame rails.

If you are using a newer tranny you may need a road speed sensor. If so, consider using a 10.25 out of a newer 90's Ford, which has a sensor in the housing
