You would probably need a donor truck to work with due to the wiring differences, shifter, etc. The other MUST have item is a PCM (computer) to run the engine and the 100% electronic controlled E4OD.

It is doable, but is it really practical....

On that C6 a sure way to tell if the vacuum modulator is fubar is to pull the vacuum hose off and see if it's wet with transmission fluid... While you're there at it make darn sure you have vacuum on the hose.. If bad modulator or no vacuum the C6 will go nuts!!!!!

My 1995 f250 powerstroke with 167,000 miles has started seemingly going to neutral while going down the road. It has a auto transmission and might go 2 or 3 days between episodes. It did not ever do it until I changed the transmission fluid. Other than the occasional "shift" into neutral, the tranny pulls and shifts fine. Is this a psom problem or a transmission problem. I have never had it professionally diagnosed, and the truck has never been abused.

Sounds more like the Manual Lever Position Sensor 9MLPS) on the driver side of the transmission is bad or has a bad connection.

This thread has been very helpful. I am having problems with my 94 f150 4x4. Just one question though. What size is the darn odd shaped nut holding the sensor on the rear differential housing? I can't find anything that fits it!

So Here we are after all this time and this thread is still helping people . 95 f250 4X4 5 speed . Probably The 5 speed is what let me go a year without replacing the PSOM . Not knowing how it was suppose to run I thought it was fine just the speedo and odometer didn't work . Previous owner sold it to me for 500 bucks . web searched the problem and found this place . Stuck a used psom in and every thing worked WITH the benefit of an engine that runs better . Way less fuel pedal . sometimes erratic idle is gone . Thank You .
