had a shudder in torque converter(rumble strip sound and feeling) a while back did a full flush and fixed it for a while. it has come back added dr. tranny which worked in my wife's mustang did not for me. had it flushed a week ago still doing it od off flashing getting in between 40-45mph. tried another friction add and ran through all the gears manually. out of all threads it is either replace torque converter and/or solenoids. not a lot of money to work with trying to find out what I should first.

If you have a 4R100 transmission you could have a problem with the pump as well as the converter, if you have a 4R70W transmission it's most likely just the converter.

I would not suspect any solenoids.

I would recommend when you pull it out and replace the converter that you also remove the pump and install the pump components out of a Transgo shift kit. This kit will give you a updated pressure regulator boost valve and springs and also it replaces the converter clutch regulator valve spring, this is what will give you a good solid lock up.

 

Thanks. been real busy for a few days. found all the stuff i need, getting transgo shift kit from summit. now to gather the money and youtube the shift kit rebuild. now it is shuddering whenever it wants.
