Not a bad deal at all, with a clean title.

Or Charlotte. But if it was it would be a rusted out hulk. Good thing it is in a climate that is more friendly to older trucks. It's in good shape by our standards.

I have had two trucks shipped here from Minot ND and one from Sho Low AZ. Each one was inoperable and they were all 900 bucks cash for transport. Internet shipping brokers. They all search something called 'Central Dispatch' on the web. Typically the vehicle arrives on a 3 car trailer behind a one ton diesel pickup with a Ukrainian driver, so lively and quick. Once when I asked how they got here so soon I was told "We run at 100 mph through most of Montana". Hoping this isn't hijack, just wanted to share how inexpensive it is to ship as opposed to major rust repair.......

Better get them while you can. In 10 more years all the old trucks here in the heartland will be gone like the Ford coupes were 30-40 years ago. Lots of those got sifted away by out of state deer hunters from back east before most people here knew they were worth anything.

I see semi loads and 3 car ramp trailers loaded with 30s-40s-50s trucks/cabs going through here fairly often.
I just saw a semi this week with 3 tonner IH, a tonner 38 GMC and a 1/2 ton AD. The truck had Illinois plates. A non-renewable resource.

I wonder if they are going to a restoration destination or going to rust at at another location? They may not be going to China for scrap since the prices for scrap metal are down. We hope for the best!

Not going for scrap IDT. Too crappy to restore cost-wise but probably for the rat rod craze. And I agree, as long as they don't get crushed, they aren't gone. The majority of them will languish a few years in various states of disassembly, then be back on the market.

That is a very nice truck body. Seldom see them that straight. And the abandoned rat rod ads, seen So many.......' 46 ford pickup sitting on S-10 chassis. 350 th 350 tranny goes with. Engine only needs valve job. Pretty much everything needed for the ultimate rat rod project including a farmall A grille and a near mint chin link steering wheel. I had the hand grenade for the shifter and the navajo blanket seat cover, but some tweakers stole them along with the radiator. It is very near complete, I just ran out of time and have other projects. You complete and it's worth 20,000.00. First 6000.00 takes it. No low ball offers, cash only, my ex wife has the title, so that's covered. '

Here's a '42 with a script stake bed - out in Eastern Washington, where it's much drier than the west side - couldn't tell from the rusty floorboards, though!

Yup, pretty much that scenario over and over. I'm on RatRodsRule forum and a good bunch of guys there but it's mostly just old hotrodders like me, not the saw blade, cow skull embellished goofy cars or dangerous, poorly built stuff. But there is always a newb all jazzed up to have a ratty, rusty truck who dragged in some old swiss cheese AD or IH cab and some other bits (farmall grill, 350-350). You know it's just going to be a pile his mom sends to the crusher in a couple years after he leaves home, or that wifey gets sick of stumbling over in the garage where her car should be parked.
