force required to operate throttle varies greatly
1994, E-350, 7.5L
Sometimes, especially when the engine is cold, my throttle is very hard to push. Other times it's super easy to push. Even sometimes when it's warm, it's hard to push. I can't really find any consistency.
Any thoughts?
Thanks a bunch.

Clean the throttle body. The black crud that builds up can sometimes make the throttle blade stick. Very noticeable off idle when you have to give the pedal a good push to break it loose then you're all of a sudden at 1/2 throttle. Hard to drive smoothly.
Clean and lube the throttle cable. It's 22 years old. Might even need a replacement. I like to use a combination of brake cleaner, WD40, and chain lube with a cable lube tool. If you're doing it right it will make a mess so have some rags in place.
Clean and lube the throttle pedal pivot. You might just be able to spray it with WD40. They can be a pain to take apart.

cable is prob done, buy new or soak laying in deodorized mineral spirits. dry n find a dry lube from NAPA ...? silicone wax is popular but grips when cold.
soak then pull n push cable soak n push pull cable ....after a week or 2 should free up ...unless the innards are torn n jamming the cable.
check bushings for wear. shafts n pivots can tilt n jam.
