6.0 intercooler and trans cooler install on 95 f350

Hello, I'm currently installing a 6.0 intercooler and trans cooler on my OBS. I have my brackets figured out and have all my parts to install but I just can't figure out the sway bar. My truck is a 2wd so it has the humped bar which is right in the way. I initially thought about making a drop bracket to lower it. I think if I do that it will be so low that it will contact the the steering links. I have a 97 f250 to look at and it doesn't even have a sway bar. I would like to keep the sway bar if I can as this truck is my long distance hauler. Does anyone know if the f350 had a sway bar that could be mounted up? I don't mind Fab'ing to make it work. I tried to find some of the other guys who put in the 6.0 cooler to see what they did but I can't really tell from any of the pictures.

Thanks
Scott

The 2wd goes across the front. I was hoping the 4wd would be similar.

I think I used a 2x5x2 C channel I'll take a pic of mine in a minute.

A few pics would be great. Everything else about the install seems straight forward.

Thanks

The only thing I would recommend is putting the C channel further out towards the front, I drilled and bolted the C channel on the stock location and the sway bar links bind

You have like 1"-1 1/2" of gap between the sway bar and the IC. Hopes these pics help you.

Thanks!

I was thinking about putting an angle on the drop brackets after seeing commercially available brackets for the SD.

I might just pull the bar down to the right angle, then make up brackets with an angle with 1/4 plate. Once I get the angle dialed in I'll box out the plates to make solid brackets.

It's good to know it will work before I put the time into building it

]I got everything kinda mocked up in place. I marked out the areas I will cut out with a plasma cutter. Once I move the condensor back I'll have to room to clear both coolers. My early 99 spider should be here tomorrow so I can start playing with pipe locations and routing. I plan to use SD 7.3 pipes. I will cut them to fit and re weld them accordingly.

I'm also in the middle of building a new E40d for this truck. I've been working with RacerX to get the parts I need to make it solid. That's how all this began. I wanted a 6.0 trans cooler so I figured I'd be better off doing the intercooler with it.

If you marked the places you are gonna cut from where the IC is sitting now, it isn't gonna work. Looks like in the pic the mark on the core support lines up with the IC the way it is sitting. Once you turn the IC around the other side will be higher won't it?

Gotcha. I was just wondering. I guess the angle of the picture makes it look like the marks on the core support line up the way it's sitting. LOL!

I cut out the openings in the body today and I'm starting to think about putting the trans cooler between the condenser and intercooler. Reason being their is a gap between the intercooler and the condenser no matter what I do. Might as well take advantage of the space.

The sway bar gets dropped with a length of C-channel in the prefabbed IC kits. It's ok to go that route.

Found these pics online. This guy is kinda doing what I'm planning to do. These pics are not from my truck.

Now that Matthew has past I actually got out to work on the truck today. I mounted both coolers and they seem to fit nicely. Please don't make fun of my crappy MIG welding

I added a 1/4 spacer for the top mounts to give me enough meat to run a 3/8-16 tap. The next part will be the drop bracket for the sway bar. I need to run out and grab a piece of 2x2 thick wall to run between the two brackets. I hope this will help stiffen the front and I plan to place it so that it becomes the lower mount for the transcooler. After this I just need to pick up a spool gun and I can get my pipes complete
