1973 F-100 rearend

my truck has the ford 9", 3.00 gear, and looks like this\/ it has the internal seal and it's 31 spline is this normal?

granted my bearing looks different but still configured the same way.

Replacement bearings look like that. Nothing wrong with it.

Yup, you have the sealed ball bearing axle. On later trucks Ford also used the tapered bearing axle with an outside seal, the "set 20" bearing.
Bearings don't interchange between axles but complete axle assemblies can be swapped between rears, just remove the inner seal.
I actually like the ball bearing over the tapered. It doesn't depend on getting lube from the differential.
