see the red and chrome piece on the right with 2 leads sticking out of it? that is the regulator. and it looks like both of those silver leads sticking have no wires coming to them. am I right? if so then that's very possibly why your gauge(s) aren't working.

I appreciate the reply Craiger, but I don't have them hooked up. When I hook them up, the gas gauge appears to work properly but temp and oil pressure do not. Also, the regulator gets hotter than donut grease!! According to Dennis Carpenter it's a grounding issues but I'll be damned if I can find it! I've added ground straps to the truck etc... If a sending unit were bad would that be considered a bad ground??

man who knows. well hey ive got my old cluster out of my 68 with the harness. everything worked If I recall. I could sell it to u cheap if interested. im thinking maybe swop out the harness. cause youll be searching for gremlin for who knows how long.

Is the wiring OK through the firewall and on the engine for those two gauges? I would hook everything back up except the temp gauge. Then check it out. Then hook it back up and disconnect the oil gauge. And check that out. See if it's one of the two gauges or circuits that is the problem.
