I'm not sure if I said this before, but we got a small 203k loan for improvements. We only did it for the roof and a few small electrical items that they wouldn't allow me to fix. Anyway, one of the many times we got our closing date pushed was because the underwriter literally didn't know how to underwrite the mortgage with the 203k loan. Couldn't do it. Didn't understand it. So, instead of taking it to someone that could process the info, the jack wagon shelved it. Until we are literally bit$hed them out about why we are getting pushed.
The problem is, most of these people flat out don't care. There's not a single head honcho that you can call and get straight answers. At least that's how we felt.
Hang in there. It can be extremely frustrating.

Todd,
The way this has gone down so far it feels like someone in the process is trying to under cut me on it... basically **** me off enough to say f%^& it and let it go elsewhere so they can grab it cheap... Being in construction you might be able to appreciate this it was appraised as a c-4 classification from what I am told that is the second to worst rating a house could get... (if you could see the house you would agree that it doesn't deserve that rating)
When I was out looking...I walked into a house where the floor basically was giving way and another house that was 75% full of mold with a leaking basement... those should be c-4 or c-5 classifications...
This house needs some paint, a couple of faucets, a little carpet, and a new light fixture and two garage doors...
The good news is the new mortgage company rep looked at my initial appraisal, passed it to his appraiser, and underwriter and they both agreed its good to go... So I think I will get it bought...
The boiling point for me is a result of my realtor and the original mortgage company taking to long and not filing an extension that I have to go rebid on the house.... the timing on the phone calls from the mortgage company and my realtor is what has really chapped my a$$... The initial contract was supposed to close today 11/14...
