I am typing this real slow so you can understand...
Go ahead and list your rust repaired EX that you did the work on a few years back and see if it garners top dollar. Even Apoc understands this concept. Sorry JK.
I'm guessing you are directing this towards me since you are quoting me.
Where oh where did I mention the "trick" would sell for $5000?
I mentioned $7500-$8500, pretty close to what Russ has in mind.
A top hat? Hard hat? Cat in the Hat?
Sorry for going off in a different direction in your thread Russ, but when 1excursionfanboi makes dubious statements with out any factual relevance and attempts to imply that I could buy the trick for $5000. Some facts need to be clarified.
Russ, I hope the best in your endeavor and you have a good plan.

And yes I will ask top dollar for my X if I ever sell it. And if anything starts to rust again it will be fixed. If someone doesn't want it that's there choice. I'm done discussing this. It's pointless!

Scored the tires I wanted for $200, they are like new. Got the truck home will start on it tomorrow, Also have to pickup the paint tomorrow. Going to call a few people who might have the hood or bumper and see what I can dig up.
Cut part of the junk hood out to match the paint
Parts
It's SO nasty
The tires
It's home!

That would save a lot of time and money, but wouldn't give me the final product I'm going after. I'm hoping when it's all done that it's something I'd be happy to have in my collection.
I found parts, going tomorrow to make a deal and pick them up. Paint is in my garage. If all goes right I'll have the hood and fender painted this week fingers crossed.
I started on it today, cleaning the battery terminals and charging it up. Then started removing the lights and header panel. I'll have to pull the inner fender out a little to make it all fit correctly again.

Picked up a bumper and hood today, spent a total of $300 for all the parts today.
Did a little redneck body work and hung the new fender and hood. I have a lot of work to do getting the panel gaps correct and prep work on the hood/fender.
Starting to look like a truck again!
The bumper bracket was bent and I couldn't get it to move. I had an idea to drop the snow plow on it and damn if it didn't work like a charm!
Hood is popped in these pics

So this week has been rough at work, I came home last night and got drunk. No work on the truck haha
This morning though I headed down to the DMV to put the title in my name and fingers crossed that there were no flags in the DMV system on the truck. I'm happy to report I have a clean title in my name now.
I'll work on fitment tonight, get the bumper put together and cleaned up. Header panel and headlights installed. I'll then drive the truck down to my shop so I can remove the fender and hood to be preped for paint and get them shot this week.
On another note, I slow charged the battery for a long while, tried to start it last night and it wouldn't start so it'll get a new battery also. Another $100 I didn't plan to spent but it needs it.
