I deleted all the devices and the phone yesterday, still no luck at all. I wonder what would happen if I pair my wifes phone to my truck which off coarse has the notifications option, maybe it will force the text feature to turn back on??

That's a great idea! Let me know what happens with your wife's phone and if there's still issues, shoot me the VIN in a PM.

No luck with pairing the second phone. It just opened another page for SYNC on her phone that does not have the notifications tab. Looks like I'm pulling the fuse. I'm not sure at this point if I'm more bothered about the missing notifications tab or the texting feature that I probably won't use all that much. I'm not done with this till it's working properly..

I have the exact same issue. I have a 2012 F150, STX w/SYNC. I can't get my text messages to read. I have the Iphone 6 plus, it pairs fine, but I do not see the "Notifications" tab on the phone??

Go to settings, tap "bluetooth', should see a "SYNC" tab, tap ONLY the blue encircled "i", then you'll see "show notifications" tab, make sure it's on.

Oh okay. It sounds like that option was lost in the update for some reason. Since I'm not an Apple expert, your best bet would be to contact Apple support regarding this missing feature.

I have to disagree with that. My wife has the exact Iphone 6S as mine. She has the notifications tab for her car and nothing for the SYNC when paired to my truck. I still believe that when SYNC is working properly it will enable the notifications tab. Trust me, I've seen this on many other posts. No one has a definite answer on how to resolve the issue. I purchased my truck new and was the first person to ever pair a phone to my SYNC and more than likely I ignored the notifications message when asked, so I think it went into some kind of hibernation.

The SYNC software has no effect on the settings feature of the iPhones. This is why I have to recommend contacting Apple for support since the feature appears and disappears. Also, when iPhones are paired to the SYNC system, there is no message that appears that needs permission. That only appears for Android phones. If you get in touch with Apple, please keep us posted!

I have the notifications button on a Apple 5s, turned it on, but still no text over the screen of my 2014 FX4 Sync w/my Ford touch. Forgot device, deleted in phone, Re- united the two with a new sync, still have notification turned on, still no messages on the truck.
Running latest iOS 10.0.2 on phone.

Wife has Apple 6, turned on notifications and gets messages now on her MKC Lincoln (looks to be same Sync with my Ford Touch and navigation. No re syncing or anything.

Hey bakon,

Which software version are you running in the truck? You can find it by following these steps:

1) Press Setting Gears > Help > System Information.
2) Look for the number after CCPU S/W Version.
3) The last 5-digit number identifies the software on the vehicle.

Please send the CCPU number when you get a chance.

I'm glad it's not just mine that doesn't work. I usually don't give up, but this seems to be a lost cause..
