Thanks very much, can/should I use this engine/computer combination in the place of the 1997 that was originally a 7-58C Calibration?

 

If it all goes to gather and works yes. Ensure that the change of calibration plate goes too. Again make sure everything is there , matches the tags and of course works. I'm not an expert however if you move everything over and all of the tags / paperwork matches and it smog's you should be fine. However double check with CARB .In fact triple check.

 

Couldn't hurt to try! Thanks very much, I have a buddy with a smog shop if it fails he'll tell me why specifically.

 

UPDATE!!! Keeping the computer with the motor worked great swapping into the new vehicle. The wiring worked fine, had to update the wiring harness on the trans and change out the sender for the transfer case along with it, but it worked perfectly. Also need to be sure to keep the same configuration on the exhaust as the motor computer was "used" to looking at. All good in the hood!
