79' F250 has 9.50 R16.5 tires...Question.

What's the equivalent for 9.50 R16.5 tires?

What would be the rim?

I want to exchange tires with something 70' high (and WRL), what's the meatier tire I can use here?

Thanks.

I'm new here, I need advice and sorry to bother with this kind of crap...

2 wheel drive or 4 wheel drive?

What size rime / wheels do you want to swap to? 16", 17", 18", ect.....?

What kind of look are you going for, street or off-road.

The answers to all these questions will help us help you.

My truck had 9.50 X 16.5 rims and I stepped up to a 17" rim. Tried 16" rims and they were too small on the front. (hits the calipers). There is no equivalent.....and 16.5" tires are getting hard to find.

Wheels are 8 on 6 1/2 and steal 17'' or maybe 18'' wheels will probably be my choice, with 275/65 or 70 (50% street and 50% offroad tread design).

Where could I buy a quality wheel and tire package?

Thanks.

You being in Spain makes this a loaded question as far as what is available over there, we do not know. And I imagine that shipping from the US is crazy priced?

Truck Parts & Jeep Parts - Lift Kits, Winches, Tonneau Covers, Tires, Wheels, Bumpers, Performance ? 4 Wheel Parts

17's or 18's wil give you a wide option/selection of tires. Sounds like you you are looking to run a AT (all terrain) tire.

9.50R16.5LT, Radial equal to a LT235/85R,16

9.5R16.5 tires have a diameter of 30.3", a section width of 8.9", and a wheel diameter of 17 (I believe that is a mistake and your wheel needs to be a 16.5 to run a X by 16.5 tire).. The circumference is 95.1" and the revolutions per mile are 666.

Yes you have the bolt pattern right.....but I see your in Spain so I'm thinking it would be difficult buying them in your area so you would have to order them from the US. Summit Racing and Jeg's come to mind. You can call them or order online. Pretty sure they ship overseas. Anything available in Spain??

In a 17", you can go with a 265/70R17 (31.2" tall) which is pretty widely available.

I am not sure if Tire Rack has a presence over there, but any local (or online source) tyre shop should be able to get you up and running.

If you don't want to do the tire size conversion calculations yourself you can find calculators on the internet.

Let's use a 255/50R16 for example. 255 is the width in millimeters. The 50 means the sidewall height is 50% of the width. So 255 to inches is just over 10" in width. The sidewall height would be 5". The sidewall is on two sides of the rim for a total of 10". Add 16 of rim and you get a total tire diameter of 26".

So with the a 255/50 on a 17 inch rim is going to be 1" taller because the rim is 1" larger.
