4.6 to 5.4 upgrade

hi everyone ........... I think I read all of the threads on swapping 4.6 's and 5.4's , but there seems to be alot of gray area . Have any of the guys completed any swaps yet ? I'm asking cause I can get a 97' 5.4 that will be coming out of a 97' F-150 auto , 2wd. I own a 98' F-150 , 5 spd , 4 wd. that I would be interested in putting the 5.4 into , IF it's possible . If anyone has done this or knows if it is possible and pennywise I'd be interested in hearing from you .... thanks

4.6 to 5.4 upgrade

I recently completed a 4.6 2v to 5.4 4v swap in a 97 F150 4x4. It was fairly straight forward... the only the usual exhuast and some wiring issues to be delt with, runs great very happy with the addional power! dee

Yeah...the 5.4 is offered with the 32 V heads. That is what they put in the Lincoln Navigator. I am wondering if it is available from the factory in a truck?

Is there more than one version of the 32 v heads?

Does anyone know if there are any aftermarket 32v heads??

All 4V and 2V P.I. heads are the same reguardless of application....(there are a few minor exceptions). Only the Navigators got the 32V Intech 5.4 V8 as far as mass production is concerned. The 2000 Cobra R's have the same engine but the heads are modified for the better intake they came with. If you have your heart set on a 32V 5.4 then find a salvaged mill or find a complete motor from another source. All depends on what your long term goals are.

Mine is the light duty 250 4x4
I just found a 4.6 2002 out of a ford police car. will this mount up to my bell housing?
Will the 5.4 mount to the same bell housing?
