'09 F250 lariat. While driving down the highway my wipers came on when stalk was in the off position. They would not shut off. Had to remove the relay to get them to shut off. Also, during middle of a sunny day the headlights would temporarily come on and shut off when the **** was in the automatic position. They would not come on if I put it in the off position though. Since both the wipers and high beams are part of the multifunction switch is it likely that the switch has gone bad vs. a more major issue with the computers. No other issues identified. tks

 

Update, went to O'Reillys and picked up a new multifunction switch. On way home the speedometer would not move off zero and the door locks did not lock when speed hit 5 mph. They finally did and when they locked the speedometer worked. The trans guage read cold. The system display was acting all funk as well showing 0 mpg, low fuel pump showed up etc. Got home and disconnected the negative cable and now the trans guage worked but speedometer did not. Also, put the relay back in for the wipers and the sprayer turned on and would not shut off. Took relay out. Had head lights on automatic and they turned on in bright sun. Hit the high beam on the multi function switch and they would turn off.


Can a faulty multi function switch cause these many issues. I will replace it tomorrow but now debating if my issue is not more severe than this switch.
