OK to drill bed drain holes?

My truck is a 95 F250 4wd long bed. Rain water collects in the bed. There are no drain holes. Should there be? Do some trucks have them? Is there anything wrong with drilling some in the bed near the front?

I don't think they were factory, but my F150 has them in both front corners.

I've never had one that retained water more than a few minutes. Always dribbles out the 2 front corner area. Figured they just leave a small gap in the seams.

There is usually a tiny hole in the front of the bed within a foot of each corner. But if it still holds water, it won't hurt anything if you want to drill a couple small holes in it.

I would say if you do just put some paint on the holes so they don't rust

pressure washing

Okay I see what you all were saying. I tried pressure washing the seam at the front of the bed and it drains fine. Many thanks to all.

Yep, sometimes dirt & debris gets packed into the drains, as you found out.
