That's all thanks to the factory installed speed limiter. Totally normal there Bob. I've been told by a Ford Service Rep a few years ago while at the Truck Nationals in Carlisle Pa., that the reason that their trucks are limited so low is due to the drive shaft being rated to 95 mph. So they limit the trucks and have done so since '97 to about 98 mph. However if you want to go faster, you can always install a tuner on your truck to remove the limiter. Just know that the drive shaft and the tires are going to be your two weakest links. Also I should add that the gentleman also told me that the only two trucks that are the exception to the ~98 mph limiter was/is the Harley Davidson and Lightning trucks. I don't know if the same is true for the Tremor trucks. As they weren't built or even thought of then. After all this was back in about 2010 0r 2011 that I met and talked with this guy. Oh and the difference that he said was between the Harley and Lightning trucks, was that they use a 6" drive shaft instead of the standard 5" drive shaft. And sorry to hear about your son. Hope all is well there.

He's fine Alex, thanks
I'm not worried about going faster. For the most part I drive the truck like an old man in a Buick LeSabre, with a back window full of golf hats.
